The work of setting up a filming space is often compared to making a cocktail. This is because it is usually made to emit light for a single moment of photography rather than being gradually ripened over a long period of time. Although it comes with a flashy and powerful appearance, there are many who feel that all value is volatilized after that moment.
In this Branderzine project, we focused on going beyond these common notions and creating a space that could create a lasting impact in itself. Even though the power of temporarily attracting attention is weak, I hoped that the work would attract quiet attention and always shine with its meaning.
A water tank where a single drop of water creates a wave of water, a square stool designed to allow people to sit face to face and have a comfortable conversation, a hidden closet that subtly reveals its presence even though it is not shiny, these elements come together to create the new space we intended.
Uninterrupted over time, this space permeates people and captures their traces outward, thus automatically creating stories between us.
We hoped more than anything that this place would remain in the hearts of visitors for a long time through the process of turning the experience here into a natural story.
